I appreciate the 2 comments above. I’m about to adopt a dog named and spelled, Bohdie. I like the name a lot but the spelling bothers me somehow. I’m was looking at a number of spellings, I came across Bohdi and liked it, and then found this site and Paul’s comment– the spelling corresponds to the sounds of the letters, I get it, I like it, I’ll choose it. Very nice name and very nice synchronicity for me.

This is spelled incorrectly. It should be spelled Bodhi. This incorrect spelling is causing a pretentious person to name their kid the misspelling.

There is no misspelling of a name, if the parents want it spelt a certain way. My son is named Bohdi, we spelt it this way because of the look of the spelling and the pronunciation “B-oh-di” not “B-od-hi” which would be pronounced “Body”.

Too named my son Bohdi for the same phonetic reason and beat myself up for “misspelling” the name since. Even though, the origin for naming him was after Cheyenne Bodie, Clint Walker, the amazing Sanskrit meaning furthered my love for the name. Thank you!
